Neanderthals May Have Been Swimmers, Diving Under The Oceans To Collect Clams. This’s Based On The Clearer Study Of 171 Shells, Used As Tools By Neanderthals ~90,000 YA, Excavated From A Cave In Italy At The End Of 1940s. The Shells, From The Smooth Clam Species (Callista Chione), Helped Denote Washed-up Clams From Live Ocean Clams.
Until now, there’s been little evidence our evolutionary relatives could swim.
