College Professors Reading Out The Slides As A Lecture
1) Chloe Daniel
The most annoying/disgusting thing to me, as a college student, is a professor/teacher/tutor just reading out the slides during a lecture. I mean, imagine, students wake up super early for a 9 A.M class, literally at the crack of dawn, get ready, show up, and what do you get in return? Yes, the teacher simply reads out the slides in the name of a lecture.

We could have read the slides at home or in our dorm rooms ourselves. Teachers, instead of reading out the slides, are supposed to teach us, elaborate, and explain things, making clear what could be confusing to us.
Professors With No Field Experience
2) Eric De Cremer
I currently attend school at NWTC, for Small Business. And what disgusts me the most about being a college student is the fact that I have instructors teaching me who have never run a business in their entire lives or have any practical experience in what they teach.
Every course, at my current school, teaches how to be a good employee. That’s not what I signed up for!
College Students’ Financial Debts
3) Tommy Mello
One very troubling issue faced by college students is the student debts and their rising interest rates. The cost of higher education is increasing every passing day. And this is also coupled with the rise in the standard of living for college students. All of these weigh on students financially.
And the government support and private scholarship schemes aren’t enough to meet the financial demand of college students— a growing concern among college students that forces many of them to take additional loans that add to their debt burden in the long run.
College Students Intentionally Texting While Driving
4) Madilyn Hill
Texting and driving is the worst thing in college. 80% of college students text and drive, which shouldn’t be done. And to make matters worse, I have seen many of my friends do this without caring for their safety and those of others, which is evil!
I have also seen many cases of college students texting while walking and going right through the street.
Such is the tempting nature of text messaging among college students that some do it in the most surprising places, such as at a funeral.
Inconsiderate College Professors
5) Arianna Kaminski
The most annoying/disgusting thing about being a college student is the number of professors that assign boatloads of coursework without considering the impact on students’ mental health. Then, it is not uncommon for the professor to take two or more weeks to grade those assignments.
It appears the professor is not in a rush to grade because they may be busy, but the students’ busy life and other coursework are not considered when given large amounts of homework.
I have always had A’s and B’s, but sometimes the amount of work can be so overwhelming that I cannot do it all to the best of my ability. This is hard to swallow because I always want to try my best.
6) Sheikh Nazrana
The single most annoying thing that I observed as a college student is faculty members giving quizzes and assignments only when the deadline for internal assessment marks submission is near.
The professors do not realize the amount of pressure put on the students when they get multiple course works to complete within 3-4 days.
Because of this, we can neither learn from this assessment nor can we put our best foot forward in completing the assignments—and so the work of most of the students turns out to be mediocre/plagiarized from various sources.
Favoritism By College Professors
7) Sally Stevens
Favoritism was one of the most appalling things I’ve found throughout all of my college life.
College professors favor those students who kiss up to them. Such students get more marks in exams than they deserve. They get more appreciation even when they don’t earn it.
Favoritism affects good students’ mental health badly. It reduces the strength of focusing. It makes good and deserving students feel like they are not worth it. It makes college students lose interest in studying.
They stop believing in themselves as they never find any credits or achievements that they deserve. This not only costs their studies as well as it imprints very bad remarks on such deserving college students.
Sharing A Living Space with Many Other College Students
8) Max Benz
I think the most disgusting thing about college is having to share living space with so many other people. As there’s always someone leaving their dirty clothes around, not cleaning up after themselves, not taking care of their hygiene, or just generally being messy. It can make living in close quarters pretty unbearable at times!
I Hated The Dirty Kitchen Sinks
9) Megan Moore
When I went to college, I can hands-down say that the thing I found most disgusting was the kitchen sink in shared accommodation. For some reason, college kids are unable to clean their dishes. They simply dump them in there to ‘soak’, and days go by before they even think to rinse the dishes off.
What is even worse is that the food waste is then left on top of the plughole! Old, moldy food, just sitting there in stagnant water. I’m quite glad to be out of the college environment!
The Dirty Bath Mat Was Unbearable
10) David Bowen
I am way past my college years now, but when I was in college, I had a roommate who, for a year, never washed his bath mat; it was a shag-like, white bath mat (although it was more of a beige in the end).
By the end of the academic year, it smelled repulsive. And when he finally moved out, we saw that a few maggots were living in the fibers. Needless to say, we never lived with him again.
The Smelly College Student Bathrooms
11) Burak Ozdemir
The most sickening thing that I experienced as a college student is the smell of a communal bathroom in the dormitory. It was so bad that I can’t even stand to use it myself, let alone go into one of the stalls.
There’s nothing quite like the smell of it. It’s a mixture of sweat, body odor, and cleaning chemicals that can be nauseating.
But when you’re a college student, you don’t always have the luxury of having your private bathroom. So you just hold your breath and hope for the best. The only way to avoid the stench is to use the facilities in another building, which isn’t always convenient.
Drunk College Students Throwing Up
12) Henry Davis
The most repulsive thing for me during my college days is seeing college students vomit because they were too drunk.
Partying is not prohibited, but I did hope some college students could party responsibly. Not to mention, not reek of alcohol and smell like the food they last ate.
These disgusting things carry themselves way after college, so remember to be responsible when drinking.
Unethical Behavior By College Students
13) Ken Parth
I find it disgusting/annoying that some college students would resort to passing a course by cheating during a test or an exam. This annoys me a lot as it is not fair to the many students who through the semester have been studying their a** off, while these cheating/ carefree students go off to parties.
14) Hannah Pierce
I lived with three boys and a girl when I was in college. One of the boys was dating the girl and they had been together for a couple of years. One weekend, the girl went home to see her family, and all of the boys had gone out to a campus fraternity party.
The next morning, the boy with the girlfriend was telling a story about how he got lucky last night and the rest of the boys were cheering him on. When the girl came back, everyone acted as if nothing had happened.
I told her what had happened and they broke up. But the most disgusting thing was the way they celebrated this boy cheating like it was a football game.
College Students That Litter
15) Becky Usanga
One thing I find distasteful as a college student is that most students like to litter the environment because they know the school has a janitor.
This disgusts me because some actions we take tell others the kind of person we are, and littering an environment where other students learn doesn’t speak well of any student who does that.
OutDated / Undercooked Food
16) Wilhelmina “Billie” Zeelen
Back when I was in college I was a little fussy with the food I ate. It always had to be prepared and stored on clean surfaces and if it was a second out of date it would go into the trash.
However, my roommate was less caring, and would never clean the food off of her shelf in the refrigerator. Once, I came back to college, after a few weeks at home, to see a lettuce head melting on her shelf. The stench was unbearable.
If I had one message for college students, please throw away any out-of-date food as soon as possible, and if you’re unsure if you’ll eat it within its date, freeze it!
17) Ismail Kuden
One of the things that I found most gross when I was a college student was people who would undercook food in the microwave.
I remember a certain time when someone put a plate of food in the microwave, and it was still cold in the center. It grossed me out.
Microwaving food is a great way to cook it quickly, but you need to make sure that it’s cooked all the way through. Otherwise, you could end up with food poisoning. So always make sure that your food is fully cooked before eating it.
College Students Forming Cliques
18) Maria A. McDowell
One thing that I found most disgusting, as a college student, was having to join a clique that moved around everywhere together.
I couldn’t fathom, as a college student, why some people constantly had to go everywhere and be everywhere together while constituting a nuisance.
Maybe because I was an introvert that didn’t like people much, but the whole idea of being a member of a clique disgusted me.
Pulling All-Nighters
19) Max Shak
College students, too often, pull all-nighters to cram for a test or Skype with their girlfriends abroad. All-nighters are a part of college culture.
Nevertheless, these habits could harm your health in some unexpected ways. You’re more likely to become affected if you don’t get enough sleep.
Keeping your sleep cycle in check could prevent sweating, anxiety, and racing heartbeats due to over-caffeination.
Poor Accessibility To College Professors
20) Richard Lubicky
I found limited interaction with teachers the most distasteful thing as a college student. There’s no doubt that our teachers were highly qualified and experienced, but they were not able to remove the unseen barrier between them and their students.
They would come to their class, deliver a lecture, and go away. Whenever I wanted to meet any of my teachers in his/her office, I got a clear refusal, which was very embarrassing.
I wanted my teacher to offer career guidance along with academic learning. I wanted to ask them a lot of questions about different fields and their scope. This was possible only in personal meetings because discussions like these couldn’t be held in the classroom due to limited time.
The Condescending Attitude Of Some College Students
21) Megan Santiago
The most detestable thing about college is that people often look down on other people that do not have degrees. When the problem is that you are expected to have the experience to get a good-paying job, after graduating from college.
Well, if you are a full-time college student, you typically don’t have many opportunities in your career field to gain experience. So it is unrealistic to expect college students to spend years and tons of money proving themselves and then graduating without getting good jobs.
College doesn’t always mean you are smarter or better, it just means that you have completed a lot of study/work that is related to a field. Moreover, you paid for that experience instead of getting paid to learn as an intern or someone moving up in the company.
The Smell Of Cigarettes
22) Sheila Eugenio
I find the smell of cigarettes to be the most disgusting as a college student. And this is not because I’m allergic to cigarettes smoke, but I also find it to be an unhealthy habit that can lead to other health problems.
