Health 7 years agoScientists May Have Discovered A Method That Would Enable The Tooth Enamel To Be Repaired. The Method, The Ability To Produce Tiny Clusters Of Calcium Phosphate, Would Allow The Enamel To Be Reproduced And Grown Back. And The Cool Part Is That The Materials Needed For This Are Cheap And Can Be Prepared On Large Scales.

Animal 7 years agoResearchers At The Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History Have Discovered A New Type Of Bloodsucking Leech, Since 1975 In North America, Dubbed “Macrobdella Mimicus,” In Charles County, 50 Miles Outside Washington, D.C. The Olive-Green Leech Is Said To Have Three Jaws With 56 to 59 Teeth In Each. Like Leech Is Not Gross Enough!

The Pumice Sheet, About The Size Of Washington, D.C. (58 Square Miles), Could Act As A Medium For Carrying Marine Organisms To Replenish Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. Cool!

Other 7 years, 1 month agoIt’s Fortunate That The Oil Stored In The Sunken World War II Era Ship, Called Coimbra, Did Not Completely Spill Into The Ocean. The US Coast Guard, To Prevent Any Chance Of That Happening, Has Recovered More Than 450,000 Gallons Of Oil From The Shipwreck Off New York Coast. Coimbra Is A British Supply Ship Sunk By German U-Boat Torpedo In January 1942.

A Study Of 17,059 U.S. Adults, BTW 1988-1994, Indicates That Moderate And Heavy Drinkers Of Alcohol Were 2 And 2.5 Times, Respectively, Likely To Develop Severe Hypertension Than Nondrinkers. Hypertension Is A Risk Factor For Cardiovascular Disease. Abstinence From Drinking Is Recommended.

Fishermen, In Taiwan, Caught And Killed A Humongous, 15 Ft Long, Great White Shark With A Record-Breaking Number Of 14 Pups Growing Inside Of The Shark. The number Of Shark Pups, In Great Whites, Average Between 2 To 10, And They Grow By Feeding On Unfertilized Eggs.
